Greetings and Happy Weekend!
Heading into our new school year we wanted to make a few announcements/reminders. The Parent Handbook has been updated to reflect our new Private School classification and can be found under the Parent Resource tab. Also, as our temperatures slowly remind of us of our impending Fall and Winter weather, please review the required gear for children. For the next month, we HIGHLY recommend at least a light jacket, rain boots, and even a light pair of gloves to be in cubbies. Waterproof is best as children have no fear of rolling around in the rain or on the wet ground (one of the greater joys of childhood!). We will also have our new school gear (in both child and adult sizes) available near the beginning of September, i.e whenever the box arrives 🙂 Finally, we are in the interview process for an additional afternoon/after school Assistant. We hope to have the position filled by the end of next week! Meet the teacher information will go up as soon as we confirm our new team member.
Some of you may have noticed updates to our website with an additional age group. We are witnessing the need and happy to be able to offer a choice in Lower Elementary for the coming 2019-2020 school year! Thank you for all of your support in allowing our school to grow!!!
Greetings! We hope this finds everyone feeling warm and enjoying the summer. For all parents of children attending for the 2019-2020 school year we will be meeting on Tuesday 6/25 from 4:30-6 at the school. We are excited to get a chance to meet everyone and share some fun and exciting news happening in our NPM community. Light refreshments will be available and we will be prompt to get everyone home for dinner! See you next week 🙂
We have worked to release the schedule for 2020 well in advance for vacation planning. As a year round school we offer shorter breaks throughout the year while providing a greater number of contact days for children in comparison to a normal school district schedule. This model is meant to provide a better opportunity to follow the child in their educational journey. We hope you all find these breaks refreshing and have a chance to spend some quality time with your children! As always thank you for providing any necessary feedback and placing commitment to Early Childhood Education!
Hello everyone!! In case you don’t follow us on social media we want to share we’ve moved and gotten settled in nicely! This past weekend we had an Open House with a little Easter egg hunt which was a great turnout.
We are also experiencing a bit of traffic for the former business of our new location, so we are working to get our new sign printed. I was a bit shocked at the price tag and decided we should try our hand at a little fundraiser. We have already sold enough t-shirts to have a guaranteed print with our bonfire.com campaign. If you would like to grab a soft summer shirt and help our little school, please visit the link below. As always thank you for supporting our program and Early Childhood Education in interior Alaska!!
We have the opportunity to expand our space, so North Pole Montessori is moving! Our new location is near the corner of 5th Ave and St. Nicholas Dr.
We will be hosting an Open House for everyone to come and explore our new environment and participate in an Easter egg hunt as the holiday quickly approaches. Please join us Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 12:00-2:00 pm. Easter egg hunt will begin at 12:30pm. See you all there!!
We had an exciting Valentines Day in class. Our friends were equally as excited to give their treats as they were to receive them. We had a parent send some delicious food and made some additional yummy things for lunch. It all seemed to be a big hit! Thank you to everyone for your participation in making such a great day!
We have welcomed Mrs. Dion to our teaching staff. She comes to us with paraprofessional experience along with the experience of raising children of her own. She has brought some great ideas already and was immediately welcomed into the environment by the students.
We also will be receiving some visits from Ms. Usha who is an amazing Montessori advisor. She has decades of experience from all over the world in Montessori classrooms and has the knowledge to provide learning for students and staff alike.
I appreciate all the support for NPM and am so excited to see the growth in the children and our program as a whole! I am happy to answer any questions you have regarding staff, future plans, or the Montessori Method.
We are so excited to announce some additional staff joining our North Pole Montessori family! Stay tuned for more information 🙂
Parents from 2018 should have all received tax receipts by email. If you did not receive one or need additional information please let me know!
We received some indoor play equipment which allows for some additional free time activities on those miserable weather days! We are happy the weather is brightening up in the near future, but we all know February usually treats us with those “Alaska temperatures!”
Lastly, let me know if you are in need of summer care or know anyone who may be. The question has been asked a number of times over the last couple of weeks and I want to secure a spot for your child if they do not already have one!
